The Windows systems publications describe how to build executable applications from the programs you write. This chapter describes the additional tasks, and the changes to the standard tasks, you must perform when building WebSphere MQ for Windows applications to run under Windows systems. ActiveX, C, C++, COBOL, PL/I, and Visual Basic programming languages are supported. For information about preparing your ActiveX programs, see WebSphere MQ for Windows Using the Component Object Model Interface. For information about preparing your C++ programs, see WebSphere MQ Using C++.
The tasks you must perform to create an executable application using WebSphere MQ for Windows vary with the programming language your source code is written in. In addition to coding the MQI calls in your source code, you must add the appropriate language statements to include the WebSphere MQ for Windows include files for the language you are using. You should make yourself familiar with the contents of these files. See Appendix F, WebSphere MQ data definition files for a full description.
