The MQCMIT call indicates to the queue manager that the
application has reached a syncpoint, and that all of the message gets and puts
that have occurred since the last syncpoint are to be made permanent.
Messages put as part of a unit of work are made available to other
applications; messages retrieved as part of a unit of work are
deleted.
- On z/OS, the call is used only by batch programs (including IMS batch DL/I
programs).
- On OS/400, this call is not supported for applications running in
compatibility mode.
- On Compaq NonStop Kernel, this call can be issued by the application but
always returns completion code MQCC_FAILED and reason code
MQRC_ENVIRONMENT_ERROR.
- On VSE/ESA, this call is used only by client programs and batch
programs.
