This chapter describes how to use the WebSphere MQ control commands.
If you want to issue control commands, your user ID must be a member of the
mqm group. For more information about this, see Authority to administer WebSphere MQ. In addition, note the following environment-specific
information:
- WebSphere MQ for Windows
- All control commands can be issued from a command line. A subset
can be issued using the WebSphere MQ Explorer snap-in. Command names
and their flags are not case sensitive: you can enter them in uppercase,
lowercase, or a combination of uppercase and lowercase. However,
arguments to control commands (such as queue names) are case sensitive.
In the syntax descriptions, the hyphen (-) is used as a flag
indicator. You can use the forward slash (/) instead of the
hyphen.
- WebSphere MQ for UNIX systems
- All WebSphere MQ control commands can be issued from a shell. All
commands are case-sensitive.
