This chapter gives the requirements for installing and activating IMS Version 8.

There are two system environments needed to install IMS Version 8:

• The system used to install IMS Version 8

• The system on which IMS Version 8 is installed

The operating system, hardware, software, and DASD requirements for the system used to install IMS are the same as those for the system on which IMS is installed.
